Privacy Policy
Orbit does not collect or share any personal data. Your settings never leave your Mac.
This policy covers Orbit, the Mac app published on the Mac App Store as “Orbit – App Launcher” by Wondertabs Pte. Ltd. (“we”, “us”).
Information we collect
None. Orbit has no accounts and no sign-in, and we receive no information about you, your Mac or how you use Orbit.
Input Monitoring
Orbit asks for Input Monitoring so it can notice when you hold its keys (⌥⌘ by default) while other apps are in front. It uses a listen-only event tap, so it cannot change, block or insert anything you type.
Orbit reads only the modifier keys (⌥ ⌘ ⌃ ⇧) to tell whether you are holding the trigger. Beyond those, it only notices that a key was pressed or the mouse was clicked, so it can stay out of the way of your own shortcuts. It never looks at which key it was. Nothing you type is recorded, stored or sent anywhere.
You can withdraw this permission at any time in System Settings › Privacy & Security › Input Monitoring. Orbit then works from its menu-bar menu only.
What stays on your Mac
Your settings are saved on your Mac only:
- the apps and folders you add to the wheel, and their order;
- the keys you chose to open the wheel;
- the access bookmarks macOS uses to let Orbit open the folders you picked.
“Launch at login” is a macOS setting that Orbit turns on or off for you; it is off until you switch it on. You can remove items from the wheel in Settings at any time. To stop using Orbit, see Uninstalling Orbit.
Network, analytics and advertising
Orbit has no network access. It contains no analytics, advertising, tracking or third-party code that collects data, and it does not use your data to track you across apps or websites.
Apple
Apple handles downloads, purchases and updates through the Mac App Store under Apple’s privacy policy. If you have chosen to share analytics with app developers in your Mac’s settings, Apple may send us anonymous crash reports. They do not identify you.
Children
Orbit collects no data from anyone, including children.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, we will update this page and the effective date above.
